I ended up getting ich in the DT. Because ive been busy with school i havent had time to get to it, in fact, i still dont right now but im trying my best. I went out and bought a 50g black rubbermaid container

my plans are to drill it with 2 holes for a return and the other to flow into a 20g sump i have laying around.

i plan to add filters from an LFS to get it established. once thats done im going to put all the fish in the QT and either do hyposalinity or copper. Maybe copper as a last resort kind of thing. I've got the refractometer calibrate already

While i do that ill have to be feeding them heavy with garlic added to their foods.

I also have an ATO that i can add so keep salinity at 1.009

is my plan okay so far? Im planning on moving my skimmer to the QT tank so i can help it keep it "clean."

or should i just keep it very simple? like just throw them in the container and try to fight with the water quality and salinity raising with evaporation???

This is how MY QT was set up. A 30 gallon tank with H.O.B filter(no carbon pad) a small power head, 4"x4" pvc pipe, heater, some light, and Ick Attack for medication. You may want to use a regular tank instead of that black Rubbermaid container(for better visibility).I was using the main tank water too.

i was thinking of that too, but i dont have a tank that i can put them in like that. theres about 8 fish and two of them are large fish, so im doing this to give them the room they need. it only cost me 60 bucks so it wasnt bad. its going ot be a lot easier for me to make it reef ready. besides, once im done with the fish i can easily put this away instead of worrying about the sillicone messing up later

rick, im going to get with you as soon as i finish my project for school. i need to get the wood to make that stand and drill the holes for the two bulkheads.

are you going to get rid of that 29g tank? tell me what you decide to do with it because im interested in it too. im thinking of setting up the large 50g rubbermaid container in case all the fish get sick and then setup a smaller tank in case i get a new arrival

ive gotta go buy salt along with the bulkheads from erik. the stand isnt going to be that high, but itll be enough to where i can slide a sump underneath
