Had a buddy that has had this tank in his garage and he never set it up so I figured what the heck. the tanks is 36" x 30" x 16". It is kinda a weird setup as the Refugium / return pump is in the back of the tank built in so it should be interesting, but I think it will be a fun tank. Just finished the leak test. Tomorow I am going to start on the Stand.

I didn't have the can to validate size.

The tank is also filthy so I will also have a lot of cleaning to do tomorow.

Wow! This WILL be interesting. I have never seen a tank with a built in refugium in the back.

Most use beer bottles / soda cans for size references....My man pulled out a KEG...:bigsmile:

Cool tank though...should be fun.

Think of it this way. It is a bigger form of a All-In-One. Bio Cubes, Red Sea Max etc all have filtration built onto the back of the aquarium; this is simply a bigger version.

Cant wait to see what you do with it.

BlueBoy did that with his 60 cube and it worked out great for him.

not to be a downer drew, but that would be exceptional if you took that das stuff out and set it up as a (near) square tank, drilled with sump/fuge. the possibilities for aquascape on a square tank are amazing (see thread - bonzai tank for example). either way, im sure you are gonna make it a sweet tank

Yeah I considered that, but the tank is older and I am just afraid that it will not hold up without that as a brace.

That tank actually looks exactly like an old Oceanic tank I use to have years ago in the marine lab at Texas State with the exact same dimensions.. It was a holding tank from Fritz Pet Warehouse in SA. The overflow stretched the entire length of the tank. It was a very SOLID tank with 3/4" glass. I don't think it would be a problem removing that overflow and drilling the back and adding a calfo. How thick is the glass on your tank???

There shouldn't be any problem removing the back baffle. The tank will be strong enough as is without that baffle. Without it, you can do some great aquascaping with it!

Agree about removing. I dont thing it would do any damage stuctually and you would have 30" to do some snazy scaping.
