At the May meeting, I won a $50 gift certificate to reefcleaners.org. Even though they have good stuff, try as I might, I can't come up with $50 worth of products that I can use. (I only have a 20 gallon reef tank.)

I can't find them now, but I know I've seen some HOB fuges for sale-I think I saw one with a skimmer. I'd trade for one of those, cash, lps, softies, an anemone for my clown, etc.

I also have a $25 gift certificate to Aquarium Masters to trade to anybody in the Corpus area or somebody going that way.

How much cash do you want for both?

Equal cash value seems fair.

So where's the incentive??

Please not another question of this nature.

The seller has the right to sale at the price they desire.

I don't really want cash. Think of it this way, if you're needing or planning to buy something from these sponsors, you would being doing a fellow member a favor at no cost to you.

Just thought somebody could put them to better use than I. $50 worth of clean up crew is massive overkill for my small tank and I won't be to Corpus any time soon.

Maybe some one might go half with you on an order.

Sorry, let me rephrase.

Would you be willing to sell either of these certificates at a discounted rate, thus benefitting both parties?

I clearly understand that the OP has the right to price the items for sale at whatever they desire. Do I have the right to try to negociate a better deal?

I do appreciate these forums, and am completely willing to abide by the rules here. However, I do notice on ocassion that things around here get a bit "touchy". That being stated, if I offended the OP, I apologize.

I really am interested in the Aquarium Masters certificate. Let me know if you're willing to come down on the price a little bit.

I think what others have tried to say is this:

Gift Certificates are different than cash:

They require you to use them at a specific store or website

They may not be convenient to use - do we ALL like "Chili's"??? In your case, one of the stores is in Corpus Christi.

They usually have expiration dates

The average life expectancy of our sponsors is well... sometimes shorter than we would wish (maybe longer in some cases - just kidding!).

Many have minimum orders. I won a $25 certificate a couple of years ago from one that had a $200 minimum. THAT'S hard to use!

I go to Corpus most weekends, and John at reefcleaners and I are on a first name basis.

Bill,
Is there ANYONE out there that you're not on a first name basis with? :hypnotyized:
