I have a new baby golden dogface puffer. (not in my reef tank)I have been told that a good way to keep teeth growth under control is to provide mussels, clams, and other sheeled food. I was wondering if anyone know where is a good place to find mussels, etc.? i have been to some LFS, and grocery stores but not had any luck. Any help would be appreciated.
Here is a pic of the little guy.

very cute! when i had one i would feed him snails and hermit crabs as well. they chew on the shells and that helps keep their beak down too.

You can find frozen New Zealand green mussels in the frozen seafood section at HEB. I also get them at Asian markets. Some of the larger HEBs also sell live clams and mussels.

Thanks! he bit a hole in the bag on the way home from TT. My boys love him.

I did try a couple of HEB's in my area, with no luck. I am on the lookout for some asian markets in SA, don't know if we have any. I plan to try some HEB's farther out. Thanks ED.

We do have several Asian markets in SA. We go to one on Bandera for our nori algae (sushi wrappers) and it's a great deal, about $10 for 100 sheets. I've seen some that are closer to your side of town but cannot remember exactly where, maybe off Nacogdoches or Perrin Beitel area? Any NE siders that can help him out?
