Thanks to the help of a few Austin Reef Club Members / MAAST Members (Andrew, James, and Lee) as well as my husband and a few friends outside of the fishkeeping world, the tank was moved today from Lee's house. It survived the trip. It was difficult! The tank and stand would not separate so the whole thing minus the canopy had to be moved as a solid piece. We rented a U-Haul and it barely fit in the truck with @ 2-4" inches at the top of the door to spare (without the furniture dollies). Here is a bad picture of the tank in it's new home..... The dining room chair is there for size reference.

Thanks again guys!!!!

Come and get it! :lauging:

This tank is a beast!! The rock should be here on Wednesday as well as the Tunze Streams. Until then, I'll be getting the plumbing reconnected.

The water test is going to be a nail biter. Hope it survived the transport.

Welcome to the world of "big tanks"!

Big tank = big wallet...

Big tank = empty wallet

It was bigger in person that it appeared in the pictures. Kinda intimidating to think about getting everything moved over correctly so there are no big problems.

.... but dang coool.

Awesome. Good thing you have it in a vaulted room.

I picked up the rock from eBay. The seller is MarcoRocks.com - it was listed for $80 per 50lb which came out to be $2.08 per dry lb shipped. The rock has been dry for quite a while so whatever was there has long since gone. No pests or long decay process. I plan on cycling the tank and seeding it with some of my existing rock. Also, per lb. you get more rock dry than wet.

I received 2 of the 3 boxes of rock today and it looked really good. Decent sized pieces that were pretty light weight - no dense boulders.

Marco Rocks is GREAT....I had some of that stuff...and it is amazing...and I currently have some in my tank now from when I transferred it over...that 50 lbs will be more like 75 lbs once it gets bogged down with water and such.

Another site sells EcoRox, which is the same thing.
