Hey everyone.

I purchase a 34g solana cube. I am trying to decided if I want two Koralia nanos or one Tunze nano steam. I would love some input if you have any.

matters what's going into your tank. if you plan to have corals that have high flow need's then your going to need more than one power head. i would just say getting like a korolia#2 and one nano korolia... well that's what i would do:)

I would suggest two modded Tunze 6025's

My single modded 6025 is great for my 22g, but I think you will need two for a 34g

It will be few nice sps pieces. I am leaning towards a single Tunze 6045, and maybe a nano wavebox when they come out ;)

A nano stream and nano wavebox would be ideal.
I will say, a modded 6025 will put out as much, if not more flow than a stock 6045 (I had to aim mine significantly lower after modding to prevent it from splashing water out of my tank) so excellent bang for your buck IMO.

Can you briefly explain the mod to me? Thanks in advance.

That is it. It is super easy and only takes a few minutes with a pair of pliers

I have a solana with 2 6025s its nice but i think you could get away with only 1 but if you plan to do sps i would do 2

oh yea and if you plan to use 2 you may have to angle it around so you dont blow sand around I was going to do that mod but i felt my flow was more than enough

I just dropped by Aquatek and picked up a 6045. Hopefully that will be sufficient until that wavebox comes out. Thanks for the input everyone.

That should be an awesome combo!
Now it's just a waiting game for the wavebox...

yea, hopefully it will work well with the solana too. Should be pretty sweet considering it's rimless.

Also, I don't think I am going to mod. I want my two year warranty. :/

Gotta love Tunze, modding the nano stream wont void the warranty unless it breaks directly due to the mod.

I modded a 6025, it became noisy and Roger swapped it out for a new one without hesitation.

I should say, it only voids the warranty on the front piece that you cut, but not on the rest of the pump.

Do you have a link for the nanowave box? Either from Tunze or RC?

I'd look myself but well....you know.... :)

MAAST has the number one page rank for "tunze nano wavebox"

You really think two of them? I have 2 modded 6025's in my 40 breeder and it took me alot of adjusting to keep them from either blasting corals or blowing sand everywhere. I wish I would have only modded one of them, and left the other one stock.

I have no problem with blowing sand at all! Of course, I didn't mod either of mine. I put the koralia nano down low behind the rock and the Tunze's up higher. Andrew saw the flow at my house the other day when helping Princer pick up the tank.

you could also go with two tunze 6055s with the multi controller...that way you can adjust flow...
