my dad has talked about getting a tank for quite a while now, so i decided to put this 30 gallon cubelike tank together for him for his B-day.

it is the tank that used to reside by the front door at CB pets, in a new stand and canopy that i built. the light is a combo 150 watt DE halide with PC actinics and two LED moonlights. the sump is a sump made by dan and it has an Aqua C Urchin skimmer. it has a mag 5 for a return pump.

here is the wall before and after adding a dedicated GFCI outlet (i know, it is up side down)

here are the guts

here it is just after setting it up a couple of weeks ago

he added some dragon's breath and razor culerpa from my clam/cuttle tank today

in a few weeks, we will add the fish that my dad picked out that i bought from my students:

two PJ cardinals
flame cardinal
strawberry pseudochromis

eventually he wants to add some corals

down the road, maybe a RBTA

Actually its safer that way. Commercial buildings have theirs mounted upside to prevent items from falling onto the hot and neutral prongs.

Looks very nice! Are you worried that the GSP might take over the area?

hobogato

he has a dragon wrasse that keeps the sand clean. he isnt worried about the gsp taking over because he really isnt particular about what corals he has as long as they are thriving.

The tank looks great. I can't count the amount of time I spent in CB Pets drooling over that tank.
