I was attending the Monthly meeting (HINT-HINT) at Cabela's in Buda yesterday, and was lucky enought to win a $25 Gift Certificate from one of our Sponsors, Clam's Direct.
I have all the clam's I want, so I'll be looking for a worthy aquarist to donate my Certificate to.
Go to Clams Direct (http://www.clamsdirect.com/) to shop their inventory.
If interested, please submit your name into the hat. I'll need your tank size, how long your system has been running, a list of your current occupants and a little something as to why you think you are the worthy one.
Open to all members, Web or Charter, General membership and Officers.
No PM's please. Open Posts!! This will allow other members to get to know about our neighbors obsessions!
:clown: P.S. There will be a big HOOPLA parade for the Worthy One!! :clown:

Greetings. I would like to be entered into your contest. I am setting up my 29 BioCude to house a few species of smaller fish, so far a Yellow Clown Goby, a green Striped Goby, and a Firefish, as well as an assortment of mushrooms. I think a small-ish Crocea would be an excellent addition.
Thanks, Richard

My name is Travis. I have a 55g Reef with a few sps (miami orchid, seaworld selago, etc) Softies(mushrooms, zoas, zoos) 30g Sump, Dual 400w MH, Dose b-ionic (2 part). My tank has been up and running about a 1 1/2 years. My livestock consists of: Purple Tang, GSM clown, Bangai Cardinal, Dragonet Mandarin Goby, Lawnmower Blenny, misc hermits/snails. Thats about it, Ive been wanting to get a clam for some time, I just recently started watching his stock at clams direct. I think I would be a great candidate due to the fact that I LOVE the ways of the ocean, and everytime I see a great aquarium I get woosy... I will also be Upgrading within the next year to at least a 90g-180g. So to transfer him into there would be great too! I think I would take care of the clam wonderfully as I havent had but a couple deaths which were when the tank was cycling :) Please consider me! Thanks Kevin!
Ps. BTW I would be looking at either a Crocea like this: http://www.clamsdirect.com/store/product.php?productid=4684&cat=3&page=3
or a Maxima like this:

I'd throw my name in the hat, but seeing as how I was lucky enough to walk away with two of the other gift certificates, it just doesn't seem fair. :) Nice contest, though.:)

Not sure if I am worthy but will throw my name in the hat just in case. :bighug: A pretty clam sure would be a nice addition. I am now broke and cannot afford one.
I am upgrading my current 65 gallon reef to a 215 gallon next weekend. Anyone interested in lifting a tank? I am moving over all the live rock an sand in addition to the new sand. Hopefuly a very short cycle.
Inhabitants include:
Pair of Picasso Clownfish
Green Bubble Tip Anemone
Group of Pyjama Cardinals
2 Purple Firefish
Coral Beauty
Dwarf Golden Moray Eel
Cleaner Shrimp
- don't plan on adding much more to the bigger tank
Favorite Corals Include:
Oregon Tort
Cali Tort
Palmers Blue Millie
Raspberry Lemonade
War Coral
Christmas Acro
Purple Digi
Bali Tricolor
I have 40+ different corals but they are all frags. Got a little frag happy and needed a bigger tank!
Tank will be lit by 3-4 250 watt halides and 4 39 watt T5 actinics. It will include a Wavebox, Kalk and Calcium Reactor, 1/3 HP Chiller, Carbon and Phosban Reactors, Sump w/ refugium. All controlled by an Aquacontroller III. It's going to be AWESOME!

Ok... Here's my tank description. I have a 175 gal (viewable from both sides) in wall reef tank with 1 250w 10k and 2 175w 14k. A 30 gal sump with a small pc light and in sump skimmer. I had framers come out and do the pre-build but I finished the dry wall, trim and cabinetry. I hope it is an acceptable entry.

Well I hope everyone enjoys the slideshow and or pictures. Sorry I still haven't figured out how to take good pictures of my tank but I'll be working on it. As you can see the middle of my tank is suspiciously empty and I suspect it's been waiting for a beautiful clam to fill the space. Thank you for your consideration. I welcome all comments on how to improve the look of my tank. I'm going to start adding some SPS with unsual colors to liven it up!

Hey Kevin,
Nice gesture you are making here. We'd love to be considered...
The clam would have a good home in our 210g tank (recently setup but all pieces were transferred from an existing system - see details on our signature line). We have waited patiently to get a clam after a year and a half of reef-keeping to make sure our parameters would continue to be stable enough to support one and feel we are finally ready. We also finally have strong enough lighting to keep a clam as well (2x 250w MH with 12K Reeflux bulbs supplemented by T5s and lots of actinics... may soon be making that 3x 250w MH once we have a minute to move our lighting around...)
Happy occupants include:
4 tangs (blue hippo, powder blue, purple and yellow)
2 maroon clownfish hosting in anenome
3 lyretail anthias
lawnmower blenny
bicolor blenny
scooter blenny dragonet
female mandarin dragonet
flame hawk
coral beauty
diamond goby
cleaner wrasse
neon goby
sixline wrasse (recently added to help keep a clam happy and pyramid snail-free)
coral banded shrimp
pistol shrimp
pincushion sea urchin
lots of snails and a few hermits
Corals:
acans
favia
frogspawn
blasto mussas
candycane coral
pom pom xenia
sun coral
various mushrooms
various zoas
We also have another tank that we could move a fish to if for some reason it antagonized our new clam...
We had actually picked out a couple of clams in May and tried to start another group order but it did not work out, so we will definitely be making a purchase from clamsdirect soon. Hope you will throw my name into the ring.

I would like to put my name in the hat for this give away. I have a new 75G RR, currently with no inhabitants. A nice clam would make a nice first resident to the set up. My two young boys have been waiting impatiently for this tank to be ready for a long time, all the while looking at the 90LBS of live rock in there and studying it for some sort of life.

I'd like to thank everyone that submitted their tanks for consideration.
If we can do more to urge our fellow members to bring their tanks out in the 'public', we could see different ideas, ask more questions and share more thoughts with the different designs.
THANKS again!
