check the controller. it happens all the time. go outside and check to see if the compressor is running.

Like Solid said, turn the unit off for about 10-15 minutes to cool down. Turn it back on and listen to the compressor. Can you hear it try to come on? You'll usually see the house lights dim a bit as the start capacitor tries to kick the compressor on. If it tries to come on and then doesn't and it repeats this cycle every few minutes, then it's short cycling. This could be caused by high pressure switch that trips idue to the extreme heat we've been experiencing. Or, it could be a locked up compressor. Sounds like Solid has you covered, but the best of luck to you on this one.

Oh, that sucks Mike.

Personally, I try not to trust anything. I have a temperature alarm on my tank, and when we are gone over the weekend, I leave the doors open. That way the fans will kick on - and the lady who watches our fish/dogs will hear the alarm.

There is NO WAY that compressor should have gone - those are the best you can buy.

Mike, I haven't plumbed mine, yet. You can use this one until yours is fixed.

I have had two different chillers both Current Prime Towers crap out in the last two days. Both have been working great for the last 18mo. Came into work on Mon. AM. and noticed a little cloudiness... Well, the reef was at about 90f.
I lost around 8 corals.

I believe it has something to do with the ambient temp being over 95f. for too long. Both are plumbed into garage.

Basically, we had to place an extra fan on the exhaust side to alleviate stagnant heat.

What brand of chiller is it? Is it plumbed out side?
