Anyone know where to buy a pulley system for my lighting rig? Dang thing is heavy and a pain to lift every time I do maintenance.

Look into bicycle lifts (pulley systems) for garages. They sell kits to raise bikes up to the ceiling and it will work great for a canopy or light rack.

I've seen the bike pulley lifts advertised at Target before so you could try there.

My buddy and I built one from the parts at Home Depot to lift the top off his Jeep. Before it took two of us to remove the top now he can do it by himself.:D

I was able to buy the bike lifts from Ebay for $9 by doing a submittal bid. They work ok for bikes. They may work better for lights. My only complaint was the braided rope. It seems to be shredding each time I use it. Might wish to buy a better quality rope.
