I have an SPS colony that I picked up from Anthony today....and was thinking of placing it pretty high in the tank, I have some of this stuff, but have never really used it in this capacity...so my question:

Could I use some epoxy on the base of the coral (yes, that much I know) and attach it to the plastic overflow? Will the epoxy take to the overflow? And if so will it be strong enough to hold it in place?

not sure about the epoxy, but superglue gel will stick to the rock and the overflow.

I have never really liked that dumb epoxy to be honest with you....so just use the super glue? that is your recommendation?

The epoxy has been known to cause Acro's to die off starting from the base. Use Super Glue Gel.

Make sure it is the superglue GEL!!! I use the loctite Gel. I'ts what I used to hold it down before. And yes it does hold very well to the overflows!!!! Keep me updated on my Brain baby!!!

I do have the superglue gel....I glued it to a peice of rock tonight and will let that settle and tomorrow will go ahead and glue the rock to the overflow...

Anthony, thanks again for the deal on the brain and the tri-color valida colony.....tank is still empty but it will be a work in progress....i'll have to snap a picture or two in the next couple of days.

make sure its gel AND says it is aquarium safe, NOT aquarium safe only after it cures

i lost a few frags this way and would likely still be losing them had ace not seen the fine print on my tube of glue (im blind in one eye and cant see out of the other)

and it was loc-tite

Interesting...I guess I got lucky with my loc-tite gel...where does it say "aquarium safe" on it?

I have not seen a package of super glue gel that was not packaged as REEF GLUE or something to that effect say anything about aquariums. The key word to be looking for is GEL and CYANOACRYLATE.
