View Full Version : New Clams Direct order!

I have started a new Clams Direct group order to take advantage of these great sale prices. So far there are two of us (thanks Tater!) committed to this group order, so we should be able to take advantage of the reasonable shipping rates by splitting it.

Anyone that wants in needs to grab a clam quick from the website, use paypal for payment, and fill in "MAAST group order" in the comments section at the end. The shipping will be split up at the end of the order.

I have selected delivery for next Friday 5/23/08 as that was a day I could guarantee to be available to receive them. That means we should have a few days until this order closes. Let me verify when the end of the time frame would be before shipment and I will post it here.

Come on.... join in on the clam fun! I went for it and ordered two!

Okay, I know someone out there is thinking they want to join in! Just a reminder the ordering closes tomorrow (Wed.) night, so anytime today or tomorrow you can jump right in. Thursday morning Barry will be packing up my clams and shipping them to me for Friday. Anyone?

FYI - received email from Barry - tomorrow (Friday) or Saturday he will be posting lots of Maximas & Croceas in the range of 2.5-3" - I know some where looking for Maximas...:)

MAXIMAS! MAXIMAS ! Our online store will re-open Friday or Sat, June 23 or 24th with lots of new croceas and LOTS of Maximas. We did not take all the pictures of the maximas as most look just the same. Not the normal 1.2"-2" you see on the internet, these are 2.5"-3" They have been quarantined and are cherry picked by Barry for color, pattern and most important health.
KEEP IN MIND, IT COST THE SAME TO SHIP ONE CLAM OR 9 CLAMS. Try to get your friends to order with you, thus splitting the cost of shipping. There will be NO shipping Monday the 26th due to the Holiday.

I am pretty sure he meant to say may and not June.

No Sherri, but would be interested in the group order, should we just order the clam and have Barry hold it?

Hi Kristy,

I'm in for a group order. As a matter of fact I'll order two just to get this thing rolling. Let's nail down some specifics like where will we pick up (LFS?) and give at least a week for people to pick their clams out. I'm willing to help if you're ready! We should probably PM the other people who were orginally interested.

Take care,
Vince

sounds like there is enough interest in another group order. my advice, one person needs to take the lead and run with it. even moreso since barry has some great clams in stock (including some killer maximas). they will go quickly!!!

just my $.02

MAXIMAS! MAXIMAS ! Our online store will re-open Tuesday the 17th with all croceas on sale and LOTS of ULTRA Maximas. They have been quarantined and ready to ship.
KEEP IN MIND, IT COST THE SAME TO SHIP ONE CLAM OR 9 CLAMS. Try to get your friends to order with you, thus splitting the cost of shipping. 10 clams or more, FREE shipping EXCEPT clams on sale do not qualify within the 10 min.
Don't forget to purchase the Clam Book by James Fatherree, a must for the clam keeper.

I don't mind contacting Barry and asking about how they would like to do this. Anyone have an idea where we could meet to distribute the clams? I've never done a group order before and don't know how this is done...

all you have to do is decide who/where to receive the order (preferably someone semi-centrally located, like you) when you order just put in the comments you will receive the shipment for the maast group order.

then all consecutive orders simply put maast group order and their maast name in the comments. barry will bag/box them up and label each bag with each persons username which makes it easier to pick them out when they pick them up.

i think the only thing the person ordering has to do that might be cosidered a inconvenience would be to go ahead and pay the shipping for the order and then just have each person who ordered bring their share of the total when picking up their clam (they will pay for the clam on barrys site but he has no way to and shouldnt have to know how many total will be ordered to split the shipping). at least thats how i did it when i did my group order and it couldnt have been any smoother. ive done a few group orders in my time here and his setup is the best ive seen for it, and by a country mile.

once again, it really doesnt require any coordination with barry beforehand and i would suggest doing it very soon im really surprised those maximas have lasted this long. simply decide what you want, tell barry you are the ringleader of the bunch, and tell everyone to put "maast group order: username: blahblah" in their comments" and you should be set

if you can get the order in by tomorrow and saturday delivery is an option the clams could be dispersed at the meeting sunday too. that might be a stretch though.

good luck, i might grab a maxima. i would be glad to head this up but between school and work im extremely busy nowadays
