Hey guys, I have a 55g Reef with SPS LPS and Softies. I decided I wanted a Bedside Tank... So I am going to try my luck with a 2.5g Pico, Its going to be small with a few Mushrooms, zoas, and 2 TINY fish(yellow goby, ???), 1 TINY pistol shrimp. thats IT. I dont think I can get away with more since I am already pushing it lol. Heres what I have to start.

2.5g Pico tank
Platform/stand
Canopy
(2) 27w sunpaq electronic ballasts with 1 dual actinic sunpaq and 1 dual daylight sunpaq.
Fluval underwater filter / powerhead
Sugar-grade sand mixed with aragonite
1 peice of live rock to get the cycle started....

Thats all for now. I do have one question, with this size and putting a filterpad from the 55g in it and some aragonite, and all the water came from the 55g, whats the recommended cycle time?

Heres some pictures...

Neat set-up.

Why thank you. I bought it from a Fellow maastard but had a cracked tank, replaced the tank with a brand new one for 11.99! Then bought the filter, new bulbs, rewired the lighting, put new sand, and started it up!

I thought about building a miniature setup, too. Even to the point of constructing a miniature sump... wouldn't that be something?!?!

LOL and air tubing for the plumbing with the little air control valves for shutoffs. Maybe even straws too.

Guys I recommended using a small HOB filter and modding it to be a small fuge. This thread is also posted in General. The aquaclear 100 I think would fit and ive seen the fuge mod done many time with others pico nanos.

That would put me at 100wpg.... Its similar to having (2) 400w MH on a 55g... I dont know whos stupid enough to do that ....http://maast.org/forums/images/icons/icon6.gif
