Bandit Angelfish Pair - Apolemichthys arcuatus$1,899.00http://phishybusiness.com/livestock/images/pixel_trans.gifhttp://phishybusiness.com/livestock/images/Bandit%20Angelfish%20(Apolemichthys%20arcuatus).jp g
Click to enlarge (http://javascript<b></b>:popupWindow('http://phishybusiness.com/livestock/popup_image.php?pID=1287')) This pair of Bandit Angelfish have been with me for 6 months. They feed on everything I give them: Nori, mysis, flakes, krill, pellets, mussels........I think you get the point! The only thing they do not like is garlic in their foods. Keep water temperature no higher the 80 degrees. THEY DO NOT LIKE IT. These fish do not come any better then this. TRUE MATED PAIR!
Male 5 inches.
Female 4 inches

First in order to understand the price, you have to understand where/depth they come from in Hawaii and how difficult it is to keep them in captivity. Not only that, but if they are not brought up to the surface correctly, they can suffer from decompression illness. I have a very close friend that was working on farm raising them in HILO. I have been looking for this particular species and working on obtaining one for myself.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think they are cool fish, but personally would not pay it. I cant afford it though, but there are plenty of people in the SW hobby that can afford it, get on reefcentral and you will come across a few people with deep pockets ;)

I think also when you talk about fish this expensive, you start talking about the enthusiasts that are really into collecting more rare species and opting for the tanks that differ from most others....think of it...how many of us have yellow tangs, blue hippos, clownfish..etc...etc...etc...our tanks may differ in size, but generally have the same things in it...
No different than someone spending several thousand on those japanese pygmys from reefcentral or the clarion angel....

Exactly!!! Hell, I know people that got a second mortgage to purchase Japanese Koi and have done quite well in breeding them and making their money back and then some in just a short while.
Personally, I like this fish and will get one. Just a matter of time. Waiting for the right opportunity.

I really like those fish although they look like nippers. If I was a Spur, I would buy all kinds of really cool fish!
