Do you guys have the air valve all the way open? Or completely off the air tube? Or maybe the 1 or 2 o'clock position? What have yall found to produce the best and most skimmate? Thanks!

so is your air valve a little less than half way open, or a little less than half way closed? Scorpino, what is your air valve dialed to?

all the way open. all the time. its real common for them to stop producing the skimmate, in that case just pull the valve all the way off and run it like that or wash the little valve piece and remove that gunk.

I don't have an air valve. If you mean the venturi inlet??? Nothing came on it... It's an RS 135 with a big red gate valve. I'm getting an rs 80 on Saturday! Maybe then I'll know of what you speak. :p

It is the valve that cuts off the air that the skimmer takes in.

Sorry...less than half way open...but remember this is my first skimmer in the tank..I may have to adjust it open a bit farther when it catches up so to speak...
Even though the tank was seeded and has lotsa rock its still a baby and is doing mini cycles
I am running extra filtration on it and being careful not to hurt my babies.
My mud is just that color too!
