OK...so I've been away from my tank for a few days and got to inspecting things. I had a hunch that something was eating my zoas...but wasn't sure.

I found this guy...a nudibranch...not sure if he's the culprit, but I pulled him out anyways. What do you guys think?

First pic is of the zoa colony. The nudi is to the top and right of the completely closed polyp. It is amazing how well it is camouflaged.

The second pic is a close up of the guy.

After seeing the nudibranch I made a detailed scan of the tank. I saw this thing...not sure what it is...

That is a zoa eating nudibranch.

Continuing my scan I saw this thing mixed in with a different zoa colony. It is a smoky translucent color. It moves...ie pushes fluid through the top of a star shaped opening...you can see the one on the left is contracted and the one on the right is open. I don't think it travels. Any ideas? It's a crappy pic, but the best I could get.

Thanks Bernie. Do these guys travel in groups...or having pulled it out should I be OK? I'll be watching my zoas closely.

Your last pic is a sea tunicate. No big deal. I would however continiously check for more nudi's and pull them out when you see them or the eggs.

Anything special I should do regarding the nudibranch? What do their eggs look like? Are they easy to spot?

I have recently added some new stuff...but I dipped as I always do...bummer that this guy made it through. Apparently the stomatellas made it as well.

I was just looking at the thing in my second post and saw some pods running around on it. So I don't think it is a mobile creature either...maybe some sort of weird ****y sponge?

There may be more nudis. Inspect all your zoa colonies and remove all the nudibranchs.

I love my zoas...I hope I keep this under control. I haven't seen any more nudis yet. Most of my zoa frags have spread onto large pieces of LR...and I'm not sure if I should just "rip" them up and treat with a dip.

I did remove what I suspect is a diminshing zoa colony...but still can't see anything on it...could just be damage from the guy I pulled out earlier (crosses fingers). I'm dipping it in "Reef Dip Coral Cleaner" from Seachem. I don't really know what is the best way to approach the issue. Any guidance is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Jamie
