Finally decided my 28 HQI was too hot - up to 85 degrees! I just got a Mini Arctica chiller but am laying awake at night trying to figure out the best way to install it.
First what size and type of pump is best, with what kind of fittings? A mini-jet in the rear compartment, down to the chiller and back to the rear? Gravity flow down into the chiller with an external pump sending it back? How would you prime a closed loop like that?

Here is how i have mine setup, i use a maxijet 600 in the rear compartment where the skimmer is, so this is going down to they IN part of the chiller, the OUT part of the chiller you have it returned back to the other side of the back compartment and i have a clamp to hold it in place.
I keep mine around 78 or so, i hope this helps you out...

on my 34 i have 2 u-tubes out the back. One goes down to an external eheim 1260 which pumps through the chiller and back up through other utube. Easy and works great.

Pucker up, or you can fill the line with a small cup until almost to the top and then hook the line up to the U tube turn on the pump and wait.

I slide the 1/2 line from my maxijet into the 3/4 line that runs to the mag 7 then chiller(thanks drMark) to prime. works well.

Some times the front cover is loose or the release buttons on each side rattle.
