OK, as you guys may know Justin (aggie4231) and I went to the END of the Port A Jetties in search of Peppermint Shrimp last Friday. Well, on the way back the :angry:PLASTIC HANDLE:angry:on my bucket broke, spilling ALL but 3 of my Peps back into the Gulf. Atleast they went back into the water. Well tonight was my 2nd try at it and I found some good spots out there. After 2 hours out there I thought that I might have about 50, so I headed home. I got home about 4 hours ago and I started to count them while I transfered them to new saltwater. WELL... it turns out My Estimate Was A Tad Off...
Here Are All 220 :blushing: Peppermint Shrimp From Tonight 4/26/08.

Besides the pepps I have encountered blennies, sponges, rockanemones, limpets, and a crab that resembles sally light foot. In seines we've caught puffers, sea horses, rays, pipefish and grass shrimp. Lots to find out there!!!!

That's alot of shrimp!! I'd like to go catch some myself, but I honestly don't have any use for them. Sorry to get off topic, but have you heard anything about the new LFS yet?

No corals. As far as fish.... sometimes Queen and french angels, few damsels, warty anemone, blennies, porcelain crabs, sargasm fish, pigmy seahorses, ......nothing truly impressive. Its the armpit of the Guld of Mexico. Nothing impressive swims in except a make-shift boat made from popsicle sticks and gum every now and then with a few dozen illegals smuggling drugs.

Yeah, but for those who have a real bad Aiptasia Problem; a dozen or so Peppermint Shimp are a God Send. They would benifit any tank as they are good & cheap little cleaners. They really only come out at night if you have fish in your system.
None the less, I'm gonna try and send as many as I can back with Ace. Keep in mind that most will be for his school tanks. But I'm sure that there will be a little extra for you'z guyz. :p

Is your tank up and running? And are you ever coming back to Texas? I've been wondering about that, but I've never asked.

Well if you think that was Cool then listen up. OK, 3rd times a charm. All I can say is that "A Red LED Head Light IS A MUST". It was so much easier to find the Peppermint Shrimp with their Little Red Eyes Shining back at you. It only took me 2 hours this time which included the walk to the end of the jetties & back.
Here is a picture of the 442 Peppermint Shrimp I caught tonight 4/27/08.

I've been testing\using different nets, lights, and battery operated air pumps. I think I have the right list of stuff to get just about any job done. I will post a complete equipment list with pictures soon.

I gave about 200 to Ace yesterday. He will dispense them to the crew in San Antonio.
For the other 400... They will be given away to the ones in the Corpus Christi area that want them. It won't be for about another week though because we're about to head to the hospital later on today or early tomorrow morning. My wifes contractions are about 30-40 minutes apart now, so I expect our little Claire Olivia will be here soon :bighug:. This is our 3rd so there's no concern... we know the routine.
I will see you guys later.

I hade to sell/give away everything I had before I moved. Not sure the next time I will be back in Texas...could be a good while.

Good luck, I remember you said the time was near.
I dont remember if you are going to Bay Area or Spohn South. If you have any anesthetic issues at Bay Area, let me know, you have my cell, I can help. I dont go to Spohn South, however.
