Im thinking about trying a butterfly to help rid these wretched mojanos. Ive tried joes juice and it kills some of the smaller ones but the big guys laugh this stuff off and seems like it only helps them reproduce. Ive read that raccoons are the ones that should help. I know these will eat feather dusters which I dont have what else will they eat? Anyone have any experience with butterflies in their reefs?

As with all fish as means for control, it's up to the individual fish. Inject them with boiling water using a childs medicine applicator. It looks like a syringe, without a needle. Inject it, and then hold the syringe to the nem, and pull the plunger on the syringe and see if you suck it up. If you don't, you missed :) You may want to start pulling rock out and letting it die completely... Manual removal is going to probably be best bet, although extremely tedious.

i added a pearlscale just recently and as soon as he came out of the bag he started tearing away at my big brain coral..so after i got him gone, i just recently added a copperband..ive watched him and watched him but i havent seen him eat any corals..however, my brain has been considerably smaller than normal but i also found bristle worms under the brain that couldve been irritating him..so idk

Most folks have the best luck with CBBs. Not all will eat the anemones, and some will pick on corals. As well, the mortality rate is about 1/3.

Racoons are generally NOT a good reef choice.

Ive tried lemon juice boiling water joes and i can get the ones I can reach but need something to get the ones in the places i cant. Since I cant really remove the rocks the ones in the hard to reach places have blown up. I guess persistance is the key

Try Red Sea Aiptasia-X. Worked great for me!

I picked up a CBB and returned it right away...picked at my polyps and tore up a really nice feather duster...aparently they really like them. But as always, I'm sure it depends on the individual fish. I also haven't had any nuisance anemones...yet. I'm sure you're going to have to give and take...maybe sacrifice a few corals to get rid of the nems...then once the nems are gone sell/trade the CBB to someone else who might need/want it.

Yep, I bought a Copper Band to help control my aiptasia outbreak and didn't touch a one. He prefers frozen foods over them. So on a recommendation I used the "el cheapo" Aiptasia Control and it worked.

Oh, yeah. Definately. CBB will decimate feather dusters.

FYI...there's a CBB for sale cheap in the For Sale/Trade section.
