First, Welcome to MAAST!,, you will get a lot of advice here but the best thing you can do it research!!!!!!!... you must have a basic understanding of the nitrogen cycle and various filtration methods and how they work. Patience and knowledge is Key. www.wetwebmedia.com (http://www.wetwebmedia.com) is a wealth of info on the very questions you seek.

Welcome to MAAST! Bill's advice to EVERYONE: PLEASE BE PATIENT!

Seriously, take your time, don't do ANYTHING that someone tells you to do, without confirming it somewhere else first. While there are some notably good LFS (Local Fish Store) workers, many know little and can give some really bad & expensive advice.

Thank you so much for making me feel so welcomed. I appreciate it and I really am so excited but understand the importance of taking it slow. Its nice to know that I can have this much support. Thank you again

Good Luck, I have just got mine going great, I started about a year ago and can tell you their advice works wonders!!! Take it slow, and Me personally can tell you, buying the cheap stuff is not the way around a coral tank! Make sure you buy QUALITY stuff!

Welcome!!! The search function is very useful as well...at the top of the page.

Good luck...and yes, be prepared to spend a few bucks. I'm relatively new to MAAST and saltwater...but have learned a lot right here.
Ask lots of questions.

You can usually find great deals in the For Sale/Trade forum.
