barnacle

i have 1 barnacle in my tank, its pretty, but i found a bad side of it today.i had just bought a reef cleaner pckge last week, that came with 30 snails and 20 red and blue leg hermits. well i was looking in my tank a minuit ago and was wondering were my hermits were, sure enough i saw one traped in the barnacle, so i take it out, turns out 7 were trapt. so yea just as a waring, dont have baracles with hermets in your tank (3 were dead) :mad:. i feel bad about just leaving the barnacle out and letting all the pritty purple corraline algea die =[

there was a tiny barnacle on one of my hermit crabs shell that i had to remove with pliers one time. they can be parasitic and kill hermit crabs, i've even heard that while the crab is a host to a barnacle it can affect it so much to the point where it can actually change sex!
