when i got home from school, i went to feed my fish and the lights were out...(i just bought new ones 3days ago!:at_wits_end:) and it turns out my ballast messed up and blew all my new lightbulbs out..... soooo i ordered a new ballast and newlight, which will take about a week to get in. will my tank be ok without lights for a week ? it has alot of live rock with loads of corraline alge, and two fish.
thanks, jesse

I bet that's frustrating for you. With no livestock (corals & inverts) you'll be just fine for a week. Any ambient light from a window or room fixture should keep the fish on a regular schedule. Hope your 2nd experience w/your lights goes better!

hope it gets better. but if all you have are fish it should be fine as long as some type of light gets to your fish so they don't get so stressed out. try a lamp or someting until the lights come in. and good luck

Where south of Houston are you? I could bring a 48" fixture on Friday for you to borrow - our boat is on Clear Lake.

wow, that's awesome of you, bill!
But I will agree that not having any corals in there, your tank should be just fine for the week, and as long as you don't live in a dungeon, there should be enough light in the room for everything to stay happy and calm.

Yeah, he sent me a pm. Said he thought he could hang in there until the replacement arrived.
