I have a little giant pump model# 4-MDQX-SC and I dont know if it is too powerful for my 72 gal tank or not. It is blowing small air particles in the tank. I have a water valve from the sump to the pump and when i try to close it off a little it blows more bubbles. I need some advice. Should i consider another pump?

I might want to replace the 'water valve', first, before the pump... unless the seal on the pump needs replacing. Either way, it sounds like a seal link somewhere in the fittings/seal. Another consideration, if you are using PVC, then you could try 'PVC Cement' to reinforce the seals.

Air bubbles in the tank... There's a leak in your fittings somewhere. Make sure you have enough teflon tape on the threaded parts.
