i dont know if this is STN or not, ive had it in the past when first starting out so im not sure if i should jump on this or see if it just stops. i have a stupid damsel thats been stirring the sandbed and keeps covering my sps corals so i came back from school and saw it was white on that spot, but when i tried blowing it off it nothing came off... so im wondering if i should worry?
how would i go about breaking off the bad piece when i dont have any tools to frag it with?

Don't rush into fragging just yet. Lower your water level, remove some rocks, and get that damsel out of there. Is that a small superman monti? That would be a lucky guess... Is it all white or just a few spots?

oh youre looking at the wrong one, the one thats dying is the green monti if you notice the edge its white.
i just saw another frag that is STNing but i had found it in off of the rack and on the sand bed...**** damsel knocked it off the rack. it looks like it also started to rtn, lot of the tissue peeled off
i do have a superman but not on the rack.. the grey thing you see is a margarita snail

That frag looks like it should be fine. Are you still seeing polyps?

the green one had polyps on the edge but it looks it had peeled off with the skin and theres just white on the edge
the digi looks like itll RTN today.. this one frag has been finicky and a very slow grower. lot of spots on it where the tissue peeled off, not sure if i should discard it or not
i know in the past when i was new to keeping sps i had a stag RTN and it affectedother corals around it. im wondering if the same thing is happening with the cap and the digi

I have the same problems with digis. I have two that seem to do GREAT some days, and crappy the next. I have yet to put my finger on it. I would say there is some swing going on. Maybe an alk swing at night? Do you have a fuge that is lit opposite your display lighting?

alk is 9dkh, so its not that. im just going to let it do its thing and see if it keeps stn'ing. its a large frag. as for the digi i dont know how that one will do

Doesnt look like RTN or STN to me, looks more like chemical warfare between corals. Has it come in contact or even close to othe corals lately?

well, i was thinking that too. it was next to a granulosa but i think the monti would have burned the crap out of it. when you saw the snail there in the pic, there was a granulosa next to it but they werent touching
it also doesnt explain how the digi that was in the sand across the tank rtn'ed. it already stopped-- unless it slowed down to an stn

Looks like the edge of your cap was hit by something - a fall, or another coral.
Caps are usually pretty resilient. If it continues to receed, then consider trimming it. It will break off with some pliers or wire cutters - they are pretty fragile.

check your tank temperature. should be number one concern especially when multiplae frags/colonies start to pop.
cheers,
