i wanted to get some ideas about doing a closed loop on a 75g RR tank. its an AGA with one overflow--- i want a closed loop without having to drill the tank

ive been debating whether i should add a closed loop or put giant sized powerheads in the tank. what does everyone think?

ill use the overflowbox to run it to a sump so itll pass through a skimmer and all of that, but where can i put the closed loop pump and how do i do it? oh and i had wanted it to be hooked up to an oceans motions

forgot to ask, what pump would be good for a closed loop? i would like a ton of flow for an SPS tank

any reliable and quiet pumps?

Mag 12 works great but can leak at times or you can buy the Eheim 1262 I have for sale. They work great and are one of the coolest running pumps on the market. I want $100 for it and it's 2 yrs old.

Here's my version of a no-holes closed loop on a 240 gal. The vertical gray 1 1/2 inch dia pipe to the left is the intake. There are two of them. The other is on the other side of the overflow. The slots are cut so that they have surface area totaling twice the cross section area of the 1 1/2 inch pipe. They feed a Dart through a 2 inch pipe. The dart feeds the four way on top. each port on the four way feeds two 1 inch dia. returns (8 returns). The small tube at the top of the intakes, with the valve in it, is so I can suck out the air and start a syphon.

I originally had four holes in the side of the tank for intakes, but the side cracked. I had to replace the side.

any larger pumps than that? since closed loop will be my flow, i was thinking of a pump that would deliver a lot of flow

i was going to go with 2 tunze 6080s that push out 2,250 gph

would a http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewItem~idProduct~DP7565.html dolphin pump be something to look into? i was hoping to split the line 4 ways, but if i do two outlets ill go with something like the hammerhead? http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewItem~idProduct~MM1158~tab~1.html

Yeah, The Reeflo Dart can pump 3600 GPH with no head and the valve is the big one. I still wish I had more flow. It's quiet though.
