Great video Troy, thanks for posting. Same spectrum as the sun 6000k at 250watts, but a heck of a lot brighter than the 400watts. NICE

That would change everything. No more chillers and smaller canopies, the only question is how much will they cost?

Imagine lighting a whole Wal*Mart parking lot with one 20 amp circuit? Or light the entire store with four circuits? As slow as America is on changing, probably take 20 years before we see it in the commercial market.

I'm not sure I'd call this revolutionary. LED technology is nearly where that one is - and who knows what the price of this beast is - and the LED technology is available now (100 lumens/watt is here). LED technology appears to be following Moore's Law, in terms of doubling every 12-18 months.

That being said, I still won't use LEDs for my tank. Not yet...

except you need many LEDs to light a reef where as this one little bulb looks to be equivalent to one MH fixture. Obviously to early to tell. I to would not use LED lights for my reef but if this ever come to the reef world I would most likely give it a shot.
