Looking for a sun conure in the austin area if anyone has one for sale or knows where I can find one please let me know.

did you check on craigslist? i've always seen them for sale there..

you see them on sale on craigslist because they are one of the loudest of the conure family. Not apartment friendly at all. My wife wanted one but we got a Green Cheek conure instead because the are considered the least noisy and are great in the home. Check craiglist and do a search on yahoo for San Antonio, TX birdshows and see what comes up.

My wife and I had one, for about a week! It was the most beautiful bird we have ever had. It was also one of the sweetest birds we have ever had. It used to climb up on our chest and nuzzle itself right into the crevice in our neck and just sit there loving to get petted! It was still a baby on 2 feedings a day.

I DO have to agree with Ray though, VERY loud and the reason we only had it for a week. Like I said, it nuzzled on our neck and then to respond to us would just scream and scream with the cutest little look on it's face and eyes almost shut. It was just too much though...made our ears ring, to say the least! Very nice and sociable bird though if you know what your getting yourself into with the noise!

wow thanks! its actually for a friend of mine. Her bird died of old age so shes looking for a new one. Ive checked craigslist but havent seen any yet but thanks for the tips.
