Looking for recommendations for a calcium and magnesium reactor for a 210. Right now only soft corals, but general health of the tank needs improving and I think this would be a start.

Thanks for any input.

David
P.S. And, no, Ace is not the answer I've been picking on him relentlessly recently, have to give the guy a rest.

Reviews on line didn't treat this reactor favorably (sp). Seemed to break easily, or at least that was a few peoples experience.

I went with the Korallin Calcium Reactor 1502 and love it have had no problems on my 120 and if i do turn CO2 bubble up to high it will fill up with air and shut off the main drip into my tank works great so no overdosing of co2.

Deltec is one of the best tho but pricy for my blood Precision Marine makes a good 1 and so does GEO so few to pick from and others have there choices but i like those 3:)

Here is a link to some reactors http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_AquariumPage~PageAlias~calcium_reactors__index. html

lot of people will say thay have had problems with it air locking it will airlock if you turn the bubble rate up to high and dont turn the main drip into tank up too thats a good option in my opion becuse when youing a PINPOINT pH Controller and you overdose c02 the controler will shut it off before you melt your media the reactor it self has same option kinda neat feature it will do the air lock that so many say that the reactor is messing up nope safty feature, ones you get your drip rates matched it runs great :)

Korallins seem to be fantastic reactors, but the #1 thing I've learned is not to skimp on the needle valve or the regulator. That's just asking for trouble...

Take a look on Marine Depot, Korallin Calcium Reactor 1502 package 2, good package or not? I don't see mention of the top which allows Ph probe to be inserted but I'm still looking.

yah the bubble rate will drop to low and the ph in the reactor will raise and not melt your media now in most high sps tanks you will need a fast bubble of co2 and a fast drip into the tank problem with that is now way to mutch co2 is entering the tank PH will drop fast in main tank ive noticed in high demand tanks if you add a Kalk reactor running pure Calcium Hydroxide on a top off system you can raise the ph back up. If you mix Co2 with Calcium Hydroxide that feeds on co2 now you can balance your ph the Calcium Hydroxide will turn to Carcium Carbonate no problems beautiful tank but make shur you do testing till you get the perfect balance

The other reactor on your tank was a phosreactor wasn't it? That's why you had put carbon in it. That just hit me while I was searching the net. It fits now.

Ace makes kalk and ca reactors all built together and for a good price in comparison to other models. The entire setups can cost a pretty penny, so for me, for now, it's B-Ionic, lol.

I like the GEO models, I have had a GEO 612 running my 375g SPS tank for a few years. Very easy to control and setup, they have a good reputation for customer service as well. Oh yea, and I will probably be selling mine in a week or so, I just upgraded to a bigger GEO.
