I have almost had it with these mexican turbo snails!!! The have knocked the whole rock that my Green Slimer is on to the bottom of my tank 3 times. Now I had moved it to a sturdier place, and it was knocked on my green monti cap. That brings me to my question:

one of the tips of my slimer made contact with the cap, and now it is slimy and white. Is that portion dead, or will it recover? Will the whole thing possibly die? The rest of the slimer looks fine.

It should be ok, new growth will overgrow the white areas. I would buy yourself some LOC-TITE brand super glue. Once you glue those bad boys down with LOC-TITE, they will stay. It is much stronger than your average super glue gel.

The general rule with SPS Wars is this:

The winner of the war is the cheaper of the 2 corals. The chances that you completely lose the more expensive coral is directly proportional to the cost of the more expensive coral!

Keep an eye on both corals. If they continue to die back/receed, you might want to consider cutting off the bad part, along with some of the healthy tissue.

Hi all, didn't have my laptop w/ me last night. I wanted to reply and let you know that the said rick was locktited 2 times to another rock, and the monti cap and slimer were both donated to the cause by you , Bill.

Yea the turbos I have are on a mission!!!

hahahaha! I am thinking about getting rid of them and just getting some smaller additional cone snails, but the turbos do keep the tank pretty tidy. With the combo of RO/DI and them I don't have to scrape the glass but once every1.5-2 weeks.
