Alright then out with the disclaimer. DO NOT REPLY IF YOUR ARE GOING TO HARASS ME ABOUT SPECIFIC DOG BREEDING.

The Lady now wishes to add a Dobie to our small farm/zoo. I don't want to hear about getting a shelter dog etc.. We are very specific about what we want as we've done the research. This is not a thread asking what type of dog should I get, this is us wanting a Doberman. I've owned Dobermans and Manchester Terriers pretty much my entire life so this is not an impulse want or a just because WTB.

So with that being said and the fact that the Lady supports all of my other hobbies 100% I support her in return. Deal with it. Looking for someone in contact with a reputable breeder. The better heeled the dog, the more I'm willing to pay.

Wants: From a line of home defenders, attentive, takes commands, knows and respects limits, needs to be able to live with our cats especially the fragile show cat, prefer blue coat first, black second, also needs to be docked, clipped, and pinned. Interested in 10 weeks to about 3 months. Wish to spend a few hours with the parent/parents to see there disposition.

Anyone knowing a good breeder, please recommend them to me VIA PM, anyone here that might have pups in the future, please PM me.

Thanks, Mike.

Mike,

There are 2 upcoming shows in San Marcos, the weekend of the 16/17th:

http://www.akc.org/club_search/index_master.cfm?action=refresh_index&active_tab_row_A=1&active_tab_col_A=2&Fixed_ID=2

This is a GREAT place to go and meet breeders. MOST (not all) will be happy to discuss dogs with you. It's usually best if you arrive early in the morning. Once the entries get put together, you should be able to find the order of showing at www.onofrio.com (http://www.onofrio.com). Try NOT to bother breeders within an hour or 2 of their show times.

P.S. I LOVE your disclaimer!

WHERE HAS THE YEAR GONE!!!!

Ah, I'm a moron.

This weekend is the San Antonio Cluster, starting yesterday - which included the Dobie specialty. At the convention center.

On the 22nd & 23rd is Ft. Worth KC.

On the 14th is a combined specialty in Houston, that includes the Doberman Pinscher Club of Houston. The 15th & 16th in Houston are BIG shows.

If you haven't found one yet..

If you are looking for a doberman with the protective qualities, I have heard that the United Doberman Club has members that breed specifically for that protective gene that is supposedly sometimes lost down a line of breeding. I don't know a ton about dobermans, but if they were bred for protection, I don't think that trait could ever really be lost. You would know more than I would since you've owned them, I just wanted to throw that name out there just in case. You could always use it for breeder referrals.

Looks like there is actually quite a few breeders for Dobies in the area.

If you hadnt already went down this list, its a great place to start. The people on the list should be able to direct you to people who are responsible breeders who have pups on the ground or will be within a few months.

I am looking through all those websites, and this one http://www.aeolusdobermans.com/litterbox/litterbox.dwt has two puppies. Dobermans are so regal looking. Gorgeous dogs.
