I finally got up the nerve to just do it on my own. I have been waiting on people offering to 'help' plus being swamped with school this semester. I need my sump back and to stop using the 40 breeder for my refugium :D

So... I had at it today. I read over the instructions I was given. All seemed well. I sanded down the edge and got it all ready. I got out my weldon 40. I didnt order a hypo application, but after doing a quick search, it looked like a needle that I give my dogs there shots with it. I got the larger diameter needle and poured the stuff in. Went to try and squeeze it... HUM... I think those instructions were for weldon 3 or maybe even weldon 16. Note to anyone who does this, weldon 40 is VERY thick.

So, I got it to pour out and made a huge mess out of the seam. Probably more weldon 40 in the corner then needs to be, as well as all over my hands. I made sure it went in the seam and then gobbed on a bunch in the corner and placed a piece of acrylic in the corner that butts up again the corner. I was going to put two pieces in a butt them togehter, but I had such a mess and it set pretty fast that I justs scooted it in the corner. I do think its going to hold :D I went to take a pic but my camera was out of batteries.

Its not pretty, but :D its hopefully fixed. It better be, because my spouse is coming home and I didnt tell him about this mishap. I figured he didnt need to know that my tank was in shambles once again! LOL I will post pics in a few hours.

Good news on my fix...

It didnt leak!!!!

BAD NEWS... LOL... The other seam that is on the same side opposite end, popped and the whole seam gave all at once. It was like a waterfall.

I am glad I filled the whole thing up outside and didnt decide to just bring it inside after the one side held. I am going to do the other side in the morning, and going to do the other two corners as well in the back. Some day my luck is going to get better!

Jill when you make the repair place weights or something on it to squeeze it together so the seal will hold tighter and it is the acrylic sealing, not just the cement.
