How do you treat this? Most of my zoa are closing up and have white dots around the top.
TIA,
Dave-

Try this. I started dosing day before yesterday to try to save some of my zoas. I am not 100% sure I have zoapox, but nothing else has helped them so far. http://www.zoaid.com/articles004.php

I have used the furanII as firewater stated and it has helped alot. I have noticed that the polyps that survive the pox generally appear stronger and more resistant to it after recovery. Also Vit.C helps them stay healthy as well.

Thanks, I'll give the furan-2 a try. I guess it would be smart to do the dipping. . .

I did the 2nd dip last night. All four colonies have made an amazing turn around. My colony of 37 Armor of Gods were about 50% closed, this morning only 3 remained closed. I tried to take pics to document it, but they did not come out where you could tell anything. The other colonies are coming around well also. I did the target dipping as I did not want to put this stuff in my tank. I will do a big H2O change Saturday morning and see how it looks- Hopefully I won't have to do a second round of treatments. If this works I might look into using the Furan2 as a proactive dip kind of like Lugols

Should I stop using the carbon. I noticed that once the water cleared up thats when I noticed the thing closing and just disappearing.

On my tank I only use carbon to help clear things up or if I make a mistake somewhere. I do not run carbon continuously.

I've noticed that when running carbon too much zoas will close up . Naybe stripping too many nutrients from the water. I would only use a few hours after treatment and not run too long.
