I am tired of topping off the freshwater tank (which used to be my marine/reef tank) so it must go. I am just too busy and it's one more thing that annoys me! :(

Pete made the hood which is perfect for retrofitting MH and pcs or whatever kind of lighting. It's even drilled for fans (which I might still have if you buy the tank, along with the adapter) The inside is painted flat white and outside was painted with black. Any marks on the canopy and stand are dust and dirt. The finish and paint is in good condition. Sorry the pics are so small. MAAST wouldnt accept the larger pics. The stand is homemade and bottom opens for storage underneath.

I DO NOT have any lighting left, sorry, other than the dinky freshwater flourescent strips that will go with the tank which you see in the picture.

Tank is NOT DRILLED and cannot be drilled; it's a standard PetSmart 50g tank, probably All-Glass or Perfecto Brand It's in good shape with minimal scratches. Back of stand is open but has a brace going across the bottom left to right, so I'm not thinking you could put a sump, although I could be wrong. One buyer for all pieces please, as I'd like to have it gone in one fell swoop since I have NOWHERE to store the rest of it if someone just takes parts of it.

No copper was ever used although Kordon's Rid-Ich has been (during fw periods). The silicone is black so is not stained. This tank has been SW, back to FW, then SW and back to FW and no inverts have seemed to have any issues with surviving.

Located in ROUND ROCK/NORTH AUSTIN. I cannot deliver, sorry. Cash or paypal, preference would go to who communicates in a timely manner and can pick it up first, please (although if you can paypal payment to me and can pick up this weekend that would be okay.)

I've tried to answer all questions but if you need to, pm me. Thanks for looking!

By the way, I am asking $150 for everything. The tank is empty and cleaned and ready for pickup.

Heya. I have never heard of a 50g tank (55 of course, but not 50). What are the dimensions of a 50g? ..Karl

12x48x20. I've heard people have conversations between 50 and 55's and measurements a long time ago on different threads. They may have been wrong. (something about the width being available in a 12 and also 13"). At the time, it seemed I'd decided mine was a 50. I'ts been so long since I bought mine I can't recall what it was advertised at. Whichever, those are my tanks measurements. Sorry for any confusion.

ok i went to two different tank volume calculator/volume sites and with my measurements, this tank holds 44.883117 US Gallons. I hope this helps. It seems we are, the public, being duped by tank manufacturers who are selling us tanks smaller than the advertised volumes! What say you about this? (keep in mind when I measured, I measured the inside of the tank, not the outside edge to opposite outside edge, since only the INSIDE of the tank holds water......)

here is a site of where they make tanks and in different size and the 50 gallon is in there so it could be but his deminsions don't measure up with the 50 gallon it is more on the 55gallon

Ok based on that site's measurements, it seems like they are including the trim. My tank's measurements from OUTER EDGE TO OUTER EDGE INCLUDING TRIM are 48x12.5x21, which would seem to indicate it's commercially advertised as a "55 gallon" tank. However I still hold to my estimate of actual VOLUME calculation of 44.883117, based on the INNER measurements of the tank.

Do these semantics actually matter to any of you or are we just getting distracted from the purpose of the thread which is to sell the tank? :D

For the record, the STAND'S measurements are 48 long x13.5 wide x27 tall. Just the right height for the top of my armpit on my 5'4" frame to reach in and aquascape!

I've been looking for a 44.911648 gallon tank...so close :(.

Yeah that's a standard 55 gallon tank. None of which are actually 55 gallons but that's what the industry has always called them.

You should have bought my auto top-off if you were tired of adding water everday. I know the feeling, I couldn't live w/o it.

Ah, I'd been looking for an excuse to sell the tank and I guess I finally was just ready to let it go. I sold the fish and emptied and cleaned the tank yesterday. Its now a display case for model horses until it sells :D
