I was chuckling today...it's funny what we, in this hobby, get excited about....
I'm in the military at work at an air station. We treat the water to wash the planes...for corrosion prevention and such. Today I asked the maintenance guy to give me a tour of the water shed.
It's probably a 30' X 15' building...designed completely with water purification in mind. It can produce 9000 gallons of RO/DI per day!!! The set-up is truly amazing. I need to take a few pics...everything is just super sized. He said when they replace the RO membranes it costs well over $2K. They even have meters up on the wall displaying TDS, which was 7ppm, and some # that I couldn't interpret about a chlorine reading...it was reading like 6000 units of something or other.
Best part though...the station lets us use this for personal stuff. We have out own tap off from the main system to wash our cars or ***fill up water jugs*** I know where I'll be getting my water from now on.
Just thought I'd share.
