adding sand?

my friend has a ten gallon sw tank that hes had up for a couple months now, he left it barebottom because he saw my 20l but now that i have my hex setup with sand he wants to add sand. is it alright just to add some dry sand after ur tanks been cycled and is running with fish in it?

Yup. Probably want to rinse it and add a little at a time to prevent the BIG sandstorm. I just did the same thing with my 10 gallon.

have him move everything to buckets, pour the sand in dry, put the rocks in, and slowly pour the water over the rocks.
