Ok ive decided to do it, because I know I will be much happier. Right now as you guys no the 210g is up and running. My problem or what I do not like about it is that im running a HOB overflow. In the next few weeks or so im going to drain the tank and have a center calflow over flow. I think 2 2" holes will cover it well. Right now I have the Mag 12 return pump dialed down low because my overlow cant take it @ full flow also at even medium flow the water touches the glass center brace which restricts proper flow and is ugly. This will also allow me to paint the back of the tank, instead of having the tape on background. The fun part in all this is removing all the LR, sand and fish in order to get it done; not to mention it is a very heavy tank. I will be needing a temp holding tank or plastic bend for the fish. Anyone have something I can borrow. I will put the rock in a large trash can. I will be getting with you soon about this Ace.

Oh what fun this will be. A note to all the newbies. Do things as close to right on the 1st go because it will always come back to haunt you.

lhoy, I am planning on doing this...my question is: do i use zip ties or acrylic rods? And if acrylic rods are the way to go, how thick does it need to be??

I know that people use both for added support.

With a couple of trash cans, pumps, heaters, and a air pump you should be fine.

Acrylic rods will hold up better. Depending on how big your live rock pieces are, 1/2" acrylic rod will work. Drill the holes with a massonary bit. Just make sure the rock will stack evenly so you do not depend on the rod from holding it up alone.

My plan is to temporarily have them in a small kids pool or something with my pumps for ciculation. Everything else will go in large trash cans. I plan to have it all done within a couple of days then of corse the tank will have a cycle. Wont be to bad because the rock and sand are cured.

Thanks sent you a pm

Very cool! It wont be for a few weeks though. Blue hippo has ick again and has passed it along this time to the sailfin. Dont need to stress them out anymore than they are.

Not sure if the tank will still be empty by that time but if it isn't I'll have a 29 with a stand that you can use for some of your fish. I'm having to take all my gold fish and koi out of my fish pond because it has a leak somewhere. If I can get them out and get it fixed the 125 will be free again. Just check in with me when you are ready to go and I'll see what I have available. What ever it is you are welcome to use it.
