I recently decided that I had too much live rock in my tank, and that I also needed rubble to replace my bioballs. SOOO, I took out the rock without coral and took a hammer to them. From 5 medium to large rocks, I found many copepods, amphipods, 6 peanut worms, 7 eunicid worms 4-10 inches long, and this worm. I kept it out, because I'm not sure what it is. So, what is it? By the way, the eunicid worms got thrown down the hill, along with the piece of rock that they were on. Kinda makes you wonder what is in all the other rocks. I haven't had any trouble with my coral being eaten though. So, the worm in pic is about an inch long, and moves like a caterpillar. Two above pics, one belly pic(the white one). I assume is some sort of polychaeta, but don't know what kind. Will keep out of tank unless i get feedback.

i was thinking it was a bristle worm, but it looks to fat to be one. does it have little spine looking hairs on it?

has hairs all over back. there are two ddistinct rows of longer hair, though, on each side of its back. it IS definitely some kind of bristle worm, as are coco worms, feather dusters, peanut worms, eunicid worms, etc., but not the kind of bristle worm that most people refer to when they say that they have bristle worms. This one is flat, kinda like a leech, with a white body, and brown hair on its back. ventral side hairless. the 2 rows of longer hair on each side of its back are darker.

Go post them on Ron Shimeks forum on marinedepot. He'll know what they are.

I found pics of fireworms that look the same, but different colors. Does anyone know about fire worms?
