Can T5s work on an LPS tank that is 23" deep?

Depending on the K value and how many, I dont see why not!

I agree with Jim. T5's will work out well, just cram in as many as you can fit and afford.

Yes t5's will work well. If you decide to stock clams and sps you can use Icecap 660 ballasts to overdrive the bulbs.

i'm guessing they are much brighter but what would the icecap 660 ballasts do to the bulbs as far as heat and longevity?

A little more heat will be added. Bulb life will be shortened from 18 months to about 9 months.

If you're keeping LPS, I wouldnt worry about over-driving the bulbs, they're plenty bright on their own. Many people swear by them even with acros and some clams.

Wow! I also checked on reefcentral and there is an abundance of tanks that use T5s exclusively....even with sps!
