Gator is a pain to deal with. I offered several times to make payments when the tank was originally listed for $4,000. Kept watching the price fall over and over. Also saw the threads about shooting the tank instead of ever lowering the price. Had he taken my offer he would have had it paid for in 6 months years ago. Best of luck.

i really don't blame him for not wanting to arrange a payment system. alot of people on here won't even show up when they make an appointment. i wouldn't even want to think about trying to get monthly payments out of them. sorry to say, and nothing against you, but it's true. on another note there are also those who couldn't be more accomadating and a pleasure to deal with. problem is you don't know which they are untill the deal is made. how would you like to have to repo that monster tank?

Z28 had no problems taking my money, I now have his tank.
Not to sound like a defense but I offered $2,000 cash up front, would have paid him off in 6 weeks, he would have kept the tank until I finished paying for it, and the contract was that if I did not pay it off within a specified amount of time he would keep every penny I had paid him.
It's not so much that he wouldn't agree to it but I find it funny how his price was lowered to my original offer over a year later. Basically I find a lot of humor watching that tank being relisted. More of an inside joke.

if you have a little money to spend here (http://sanantonio.craigslist.org/for/552843268.html) is a good deal on a large high end tank.

GMFett in Austin is going to be selling his tank, which is terrible! He has a 600 gallon monster that you may be interested in. I just saw that he is selling the skimmer, so you may want to contact him about a package deal.

Chris,
Piggybacking off another thread: Are you folks a non-profit? If so, can a donation be written off? Again, if so, there are some folks with BIG tanks that they are selling. Since they are selling for about $0.30-0.35 on the dollar, it MAY be advantageous to inquire about them donating it. For those in the highest tax bracket, it could work out AND you get a free tank...
Example: Someone linked the above tank from Craigslist.
They have $7500 in it. They are selling it for $1500. If they are in a 29% tax bracket (not the highest), they can get a tax savings of $2,175 by donating it, effectively getting more than they are asking...
