Intentionally killing Palys and Yellow Stars...

OK, this weekend is MAJOR tank work on the 55, and aquascaping on the 215. So. Is there any way to kill these guys off without polluting the water? I can probably scrape some off, but also have some spots I want to thin out too. Some Kalk paste?

BTW, if anyone wants some ugly palys, they are here for the taking! See my post under "For Sale". Just bring me replacement rock (dry or live, I'll kill it first anyway).

I've got a similar problem with palys...they seem to be running a gamut.... how do i stop them?

Inject Kalk, just like killing aiptasia. Kalk kills just about everything it comes in direct contact with. I do this all the time.

If you kill a lot of paly's of anything else with the Kalk consider running some carbon and a water change the next day. If one killed one or two paly's a day the tank could most likely handle the increase of pollution with a weekly water change. Just my thoughts.

Ping, that's what I thought. I think I'll try the manual method, since that part of both tanks is coming apart this weekend. I'll be sure and wear gloves and glasses.
