Hi it’s Mike here and I have a Marine land eclipse 5 gallon hex aquarium. I am currently running everything stock except for the lighting which is up graded to a 50/50 PC bulb. My current dilemma is getting more flow to my system. All the current I have is a little trickle on the far right corner and that isn’t cutting it for my taste. I got a Rio 50 power head and that made a sandstorm happen even on the lowest setting. So I want to do something different here and don’t really no if there are any possibilities. So any help would be appreciated.

When I had a small pico 2 1/2 gallon tank, we retrofitted it with a reptile filter. We filled it with the live rock rubble. Was like a mini refuge in there, minus the macro. Kind of like a minature canister really. :D It worked GREAT. Little too much power for the 2 1/2 gallon tank, but the zoas were fine. For a five gallon, probably work alot better. The plus size is it doesnt take up alot of your room inside the tank, it just sticks to the backglass.
This is very similar to what we used. http://www.petco.com/product/14971/Zoo-Med-Save-Your-Reptiles-501.aspx#description

I got a couple of these Nano pumps from Fraggle Reef (http://www.fragglereef.com/zen/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=26&products_id=2874) for my Eclipse 12 and even though it's rated at 200 - 250 GPH, it seems to work fairly well at the lowest setting. Definitely had some sand flying around though when I tested it fully open.. :) Not too bad for 5 bucks...
