not likely but possible,, they could just be clearing a spawn site ..orrrr may just be because he is new and found him a little spot he wants to defend

it's probably because one clown is kicking the other clowns butt. (usually at night when you cant see) if thats the case, they need to be seperated soon because the aggressor wont stop until the other is gone.

No fear linjam, When I started saltwater about 2 years ago. My first fish was a clown, Fish are wierd and will do some pretty unusual things. My clown for about 2 months would not come out into the open water. Now he is the friendlist fish I have in any of my tanks. He will follow your finger in the water. GIve him or her time and They will come around.

I had a true percula clown called him nemo(which died 2weeks ago :( got sucked by my wet/dry and i broke one fin while trying to get him out of the sump) anway, he was the same way when he was 1st introduce to the tank. he would stay in the top left corner swimming against the flow from the Hydor Koralia3. after 1 week he was unstoppable and was all over the tank. (he always used to go to sleep on the other side though where their is low current.
So my friend I think you should just give him/her some time. otherwise, they might be just fighting each other like JoelB said.
Good luck
