Gate Valve

I'm planning to try the gate valve mod on my EuroReef skimmer and am looking for a 1.5" slip gate valve.

I know I can order one from Savko, but thought I would check locally (Austin) first.

Jim's idea was great, hadn't thought of a spa place.

So, I did call a Spa place in Austin, drove all the way down there only to find that their 'gate valve' was one of these, which I call a knife valve,http://www.edsgunstore.com/knife_valve.jpg

and which are not adjustable and would not work for my application.

Hmm. All of the mods I have seen on the net use a gate valve. So yours uses a regular ball valve?

I have an extra gate valve 1.5" that I ordered from Savko but never used

Only problem with Ball valves is that they are hard to fine tune, yes you can adjust flow, however, much easier to adjust using a gate valve. Just food for thought.
