Im totally in love with mine, better color and growth from my corals, less heat, bulbs last longer, more bulb/color options

MH, I like the crispness of the light and color and the wife likes the "sparkles." LOL

there is something to be said for the shimmer effect of a singular point of light, i'd prolly go t5's less room in canopy needed, fewer heat concerns, customizability of light, cost of replacement bulbs.

I'd say MH. When that light comes on, it's BAM instant beauty. The shimmer, the intensity, the growth, all hard to beat.

I hate this argument that T5 bulbs are cheaper. It's complete nonsense. The few T5 tanks I've seen would run about 5x T5's to 2x 150-250 MH. Let's do the real math, 5x $30 is $150. 2x $60-70 is $120 to $150ish, the same price. Now if you skimped and bought a 2 bulb system where you need a 5 bulb system you'd save money but have an ugly tank.

Get both.
Use the T5s as supplements to the MH.

Well certainly both. You really only need the MH for about 4-6 hours each day. Use the T5's as a supplement and actinic. I figured the vote was for what you wanted as the main lighting, IE:a bunch of T5 or a simple MH.
