My opinion - and I've done a LOT of looking - that's a leap of faith...

I've done of lot of looking, read every message on reef central until they closed it off. I Have read the Solaris forum and read the complaints there. I have looked at the G,H&I models and believe that if I can get a G, that uses only 250 Watts instead of 400 Watts, and at a lower cost then an H or I it maybe worth it. I need more light, and I think this is the most economical choice over the long run, T5's in the short run. I also believe the LED is the future of lighting. While the G is recommended for the top 18" for SPS, that ok for me. Its 24 inches to the top of my sand bed, that just 6 inches. I can live with saving $500-700 for 6 inches. I looked at AI also, and between the two, PFO has it beat, as the AI has to run at maxium output to reach there claims.

I had also talked myself into it, after having read and participated in many of the discussions. I even had one on order.

Then I got to doing some real research on my own, at the 2 LED manufacturers sites. That's when I discovered this basic fact: except for incandenscent lighting, all lighting has pretty much the same efficiency/inefficiency.

On top of this, I've not seen a SINGLE decent SPS testimonial, with before and after photos, showing that growth and color are competitive. Now, understand that it's been a couple of months since I last checked. Is this STILL the case?

Other than that, I'd love to see what they look like. Let me know if you buy one.
