I'm looking for someone who can build me a custom stand for my 56" x 30" x 30" tank. Looks don't matter -- Once it's in place I'm planning on having Kent Moore cabinets, my home's cabinet maker, come and install cabinet doors and trim so it blends in with the rest of my home. But before that can be done, it has to be propped up on a sturdy set of 2x4's or whatever else is sturdy, effective, and ugly.

Any recommendations or takers? Should I just be going directly to Ace? :)

I built a stand this weekend for my 75 gallon. I notched 4x4 posts for the corners and ran 2x6's across them, top & bottom. I'll post some pics up later this week probably, it was easier than you think, about 3 hours of work maybe. I probably way overbuilt it but I didn't want to risk it since my tank is going into an apartment.

Yeah yours is rediculous, but at least it's not breaking I guess.

Awesome, thanks, I'll keep my eye out for pics. I think I technically could build it on my own, but my handyman experience is waaay way limited so I'd be afraid to do something this important as my own project. That and my wife would never let me.

If you (or anyone) is willing to build mine for me, I'll definitely pay!

the frame of the stand is definitely not difficult to build. just be sure, since you are not going to skin it right away, to add in some lateral support so the stand does not sway left to right or back to front. if you have any questions, drop me a pm.
