My M. confusa has been closing polyps on and off the past couple days. Was looking at it with a flashlight and saw 2 of what appears to me to be tiny little white nudibranchs (berghias I think). Thought those were beneficial though. But the bottom edge on the underside around where the coral meets the rock is all white where the nudies are resting. I didn't add them, so they woulda hitched in on something.
Are they monti eaters? if so can I just dip the coral? In what for how long?
Any Ideas are appreciated
Thanks
Rob
PS No way to get a pic til I pull the coral out

"Are they monti eaters?"
Most likeley, yes. Unfortunately, one of the most difficult pests to eliminate. Its best to get them NOW before they spread, although its probably too late by now. Gonna need to remove the coral and physicly remove them with a toothbrush and a long soak in fresh water at the risk of losing the coral :( even this is no guarantee. I ended up having to remove all montipora species from the tank, eventually, they all succumbed to nasty little creature. Not the news you were looking for Im sure..

what I found after the dip in 10 drops Lugol's/qt tank water for 10 mins as per instructions. I also found another that when I tried to get off turned to mush.

well after the Lugol's dip last weekend I noticed tonight they are back so I will get some Oomed tomorrow at Aquatek. Then I'll follow the procedures in the above link and see how that goes.

Well that's gonna have to work as I didn't find any Oomed at 3 outta 3 LFS today. I will get on it in just a few but I have another question (maybe I should start a new thread) but I got home and while temp acclimating the zoo combo rock I got, I spooted this little creature swimming in the bag. It almost looked like a tiny aptasia but it was swimming like jellyfish using it's tentacles for propulsion. I took a few pics will post in a minute, I have to upload into photobucket real quick.
