Thought this would be a fun thread. Im curious to know who or what species rules your tank. What fish thinks its the head hancho.

In my 210g out of the 9 fish and the 1 moray eel its is my 5" Sailfin tang. This Sailfin is a Beautiful fish but occasionally thinks he needs to put the foxface and blue hippo in check although both are bigger than it. Nothing bad just a little harmless chasing which usually last all of 3 seconds. Most doscile is my 4" GSM clown. Will be finishing the tank of with a angel most likely a blueface. Also a harlequin tusk and a zebra moray eventually.

my clown tank thinks he does, but the fish nobody messes with (besides the giant vlamingi tang and zebra eel - they dont count bc of size) is the harlequin tusk. when i first added the tusk, the clown tang followed him around and tried to bite him once - he missed but the tusk didnt, and now nobody messes with the tusk.

Powder Blue. Even over the Sohol. Emperor Angel THINKS he's the tough one, but eveyone ignores him. The one that no one messes with at feeding time, believe it or not, is the CBB.

Powder Blue for me also, He has killed a couple of clown tangs and a Sohal.

Looks like tangs so far seem to be consistently the more aggressive.

My powder just likes any newbies to know who is boss. Lasts for a couple of hours, then all is ok.

Niger for me. I tried to add a bigger blue throat trigger and he wasn't having it. He kept him hiding behind the overflow box until I pulled him out and sold him.

My yellow tang so far, but he was one of the first into the tank. Two more fish I'd like to get and see what happens is a Harlequin Tusk and a Sohal Tang so things may change.

Knock on wood. So far, my Sohol is around #4 or #5 in the tank... But, he was the next to last (rabbitfish was the last).

For me it is a barred Rabbitfish (S. doliatis). Didn't start that way. In fact when he was added 2 years ago he was probably at the bottom of the list and was picked on heavily by my yellow tang. Now that he is 8" nobody messes with him. He isn't aggressive too much either, though at feeding time he makes sure he gets all that he wants.

My two yellow tangs keep the clown in check. The bicolor and foxface also keep the clown in check. It's kind of cool to watch. The clown will turn dark, but none of the fish are scared of him at all.

My christmas wrasse!!!

Really, I have a 6-7" Male Christmas wrasse that is somewhat shy and doesnt mess with anyone, but my large male bird wrasse is very bold and stills food from every fish in the tank if he gets the chance. Love how the same species of fish can have completely diffrent personalities.

All I have right now is a Lunare Wrasse and I can already tell he's gonna be the boss. He killed all my hermit crabs within a week. Actually there is one left but it's pretty big ( the wrasse is like 3 inches ) and the wrasse doesn't mess with him. The instant the lights go out he darts into his little hiding place and will not come out til the lights come back on.

Lunare wrasses naturally eat inverts so that doesnt meen hes a aggressive or dominant fish. That just what they do. I have a Christmas wrasse and 2 bird wrasses , inverts are snacks in my tank. Once you add more fish then you will know its true personality.

Mine is my Sailfin tang. He checks the other tangs as well as my foxface and clown. He even tries to steal food from my carpet anemone. That is funny watching his lips stick to the anemone...

Emperator in my 200. At 5" he seemed to get along with everyone, but now at 7" he is a terror. Ray if you are thinking about adding a Blueface, try a juvenile. I raised one from a juvy to adult in about a year. The juvy's are much cheaper.

It's because your lights are so bright. The 15 watts over the 55 gallons is pretty intense.

The ruler of my tank is my male Square Anthias. He is not very aggressive but more the mediator in the tank...no one messes with him and he seems to keep the peace.

My yellow tang is like that. I swear he goes over to "save" my little oscillaris clown whenever one of the gold stripe maroons gets a little testy.

(I know I'm not supposed to have another clown in there w/ the gold stripe maroons. But, they really do leave it alone. My theory is that the oscillaris is so small, and the gold stripe maroons are paired up, he's really no threat to either of them. Every once it a while, they'll chase him. But literally, it's for about 6-10 inches of tank length. Then, they stop and go back to what they were doing.)
