Any chance of reviving this thing? It's a Palm Treo 750 and I have the insurance on it but going a few days without it is something I am dreading. Good thing work pays for it I guess, otherwise I'd be pretty upset.:blushing:

try taking the battery out, rinse it real good with fresh water, dry it as good as you can and then let it air dry for a couple of days or you can put it in the dryer inside a couple of pairs of socks. This has worked for me twice so far. but it was fresh water not salt give it a try .

This phone is already on its last leg, only 3 of the roughly 7-9 screws that hold it together remain. It wouldn't last 5 minutes tumbling in a dryer. I think my employer is going to be out $50 for a deductible, though I'm secretly hoping they'll upgrade me to a better phone.

Either way you will be without it for a few days. I would go with the insurance, you will get a new phone out of it. Mine only took a day to get it when mine got wet.
If you do the insurance make sure they are giving you a phone that is as good as your current one. I had to talk to the manager before they gave me one that compared to my original.

I'm pretty sure they send you refurbished ones of the same model. A few guys at work have had similar things happen and they all got the same model of phones. The only thing I'm upset about is that I haven't synched my phone with outlook since August I think which means I'm going to lose a lot of stuff.(personal and work related)

OK, having done this before... And, as recently as a couple of weeks ago. Everyone pay attention. THIS WORKS ABOUT 95% of the time with fresh water, and 75% of the time with salt:
IMMEDIATELY, remove the battery. If in salt water, DUNK in cool fresh water. Shake it around so that it gets TOTALLY wet. I'm not kidding here...
In either case, then rinse well in RO/DI or distilled water. With the battery out, you're likely not doing any additional damage. Shake it out and dry it off.
Place in the oven at the LOWEST possible temperature for 24 hours. If you have a gas oven with a pilot light, that will work fine (oven off, pilot on). Otherwise, on WARM.
Remove from oven, let cool to room temperature. Insert battery, and fire it up!
P.S. DON'T USE ALCOHOL - tried that once and it ruins the LCD screens.
P.S.S. I'm a salt water sailor - this has happened to me and my friends MANY times...

Yeah I bet it was an accident, especially considering you want to upgrade...oops, it fell in the ole biocube. How in the world did it fall into your tiny little biocube anyways. Were you taking a picture of your protein skimmer or what??

It didn't. Pablo bought Pat's tank and I was helping him move it. We put some of the water/rocks into a rubbermaid bin and I was bending over to get the rocks out and it slipped out of my front shirt pocket(only pocket I have in my scrubs).
