I originally got into SW in order to raise an Emperor. Then the reef thing happened and now...............well.......I still want one. I have been noticing many aquariums with Large Angels including the emperator, and I wonder what gives? Aren't they coral eaters, NON reef safe? Also I belive I saw on ReeferMadness, the Emperator listed as reef-safe? I wouldn't care if he nipped at corals occasionally as long as he left some.

What do you think?

Thanks

Rob

btw: I have a 180

The 3 weeks that i had mine (die of ick), he tore the zoos apart and nipping at the flat brain, and the red doughnut scaly. Those are the only corals that i noticed of, but that fish is so awsome, it is worthy to try.

I have had one for about 9 months. Got him/her at about 1-1/2". Now about 4". So far, so good. BUT. I've heard that once they go thru the color change, that's when they start nipping.

Zoo's are drugs to Angels. Brains will not work either. When my larger Imperator was a juvy he got along with Frogspawn, Xenia, SPS, GSP, Mushrooms, and a Clam. When he turned I had to remove the Clam out of my 200. In my 158 my medium sized adult pecked on one of my Candy canes but has since stopped. Neither one has bothered Frogspawn, Xenia, GSP, Mushrooms, or SPS. Just remember they will get very aggressive with age.

Well he should go for $79 to $99 depending on size. Shipping plays a big roll in the pricing. I'll be there at 10am and close when the fish get acclimated, should be done around 9pm or so. The fish will here at 6pm
